Haswell Guest House stands on what was once a farm built in 1913. The decor preserves the atmosphere of old days with its worn wooden floor, pressed steel ceilings and comfortable furniture. It is the essence of coziness with an eclectic colourful style of stucco walls and antique furniture mixed with modern collectables.

Whether booking a conference, planning an intimate wedding, or simply stealing away for a romantic weekend, our speciality is to tailor-make your stay to suit your needs. Our 24-hour team will arrange all your onward bookings, sightseeing tours, and airport transfers. They will even pack sandwiches for your lunch if you’ll be out on business for the day.


In autumn and winter, spend the days enjoying our endless pots of tea and coffee served with freshly made cakes, biscuits and pastries. In the cool, crisp Highveld evenings, sip on a pre-dinner drink in front of a log fire in the elegant lounge; or sit on the veranda watching the magnificent African sunset, wrapped in a warm blanket, and listening to the screeching of the hadeda birds as they return to their nests in our old oak tree.

Eating the most delicious food and sleeping in a comfortable bed in some of the most beautiful bedrooms I have ever seen.

The sounds of birds and the flowering of the gardens herald spring and summer. In summer you are invited to unwind at the pool area while enjoying your lunch or dinner served to you at the pool house. From barbecues, or “braais”, with all the African traditional trimmings to English Sunday roasts, the resident chef is waiting to serve you.

There are three bedrooms en suite, each with their own private patio. Each spacious room is decorated individually with charm and style and includes twin or king size beds dressed in pure white luxury linen. All rooms come standard with air-conditioning/heating, Wi-Fi, flat-screen televisions with DSTV, hairdryers, and tea and coffee stations. The generous bathrooms are designed for maximum comfort, with dressing gowns, slippers and toiletries provided, as well as heated towel rails and separate showers.
